“Only 10 seconds on the clock will the Lady Wildcats have there Christmas Miracle. They win tonight and they are on there way to become state champions ” the announcer who was sitting at the announcers booth said.
“Go Astrid!!” Emma yelled.
10 seconds later….
“The Wildcats have done it!” the announcer yelled excitedly “Another win for the Lady Wildcats.”
At Genomex Mason Eckhart had been watching the game that was shown on one of the local channels. He never really celebrated Christmas and didn’t remember a time when he did.
He saw Mutant X in the stands and thought about sending some GS Agents over but decided against it, instead he watched and turned it off when Thorne entered the room.
“How much do you want to bet that, Miss Mulwray cheated her team’s way to the to be one of the top high school womens basketball team in the state” Eckhart said.
“How do you mean?” Thorne said.
“She’s Feral playing with Non Ferals which makes it easier for them to win games” Eckhart said.
“What do you wish I do?” Thorne said.
“Nothing now” Eckhart said. “Merry Christmas” he said annoyed.
“Merry Christmas to you to sir” Thorne said and then walked out of the office.
Meanwhile the entire Eastside Basketball Team there families and fans gathered at Pizza Palace for a big party. The coaches got up and made a big speech and wished them a safe and happy Christmas and would see them next year.
Two days later…
The mall was packed with last minute Shoppers, Christmas only a week away and Shalimar, Astrid and Emma were busy shopping for each other and the guys.
“So what should I get for Brennan?” Emma said, she had gotten Jesse a sweater, Adam a watch, Shalimar and Astrid some soaps and stuff from Bath and BodyWorks
“A book of Poetry” Shalimar said.
“Sounds like a good idea…He does like poetry” Astrid said smiling at her friends.
Meanwhile the guys were on the other side of the mall shopping for the girls and each other. They found it hard to shop especially for the girls. Adam bought each team member a $50 gift card to use at any store in the mall.
That afternoon they met for lunch and returned back to Sanctuary and hid their gifts in their rooms. The next day they started to decorate Sanctuary.
Shalimar and Jesse told the others stories about Christmas before they joined and how Adam would let them hang lights around Sanctuary since they didn’t have anyway to light them outside.
They brought a tree that they had bought from a Christmas tree lot and found all the tree decorations and when it was all over they started to plan for a small Christmas party.
“Should we have Ham or Turkey?” Adam asked.
“Turkey” Emma said.
“Ham” Brennan responded.
“I’ll go for Turkey” Shalimar said.
“Turkey” Jesse said.
“Turkey’s fine” Astrid responded.
“Turkey it is?” Adam said.
“We could have Mash Potatoes, yams, green beans” Emma said.
“Apple Pie” Jesse said.
“Ok…Jesse Emma and Astrid you will be in charge of cooking and Shalimar Brennan and I will take care of the shopping” Adam said.
“Sounds cool” Brennan said.
When Christmas Eve rolled around they team was very excited all presents were wrapped and now under the tree. Christmas music was playing throughout the Sanctuary. That night Astrid found Brennan in his room reading.
“Hey” Astrid said.
“What’s up?” Brennan said smiling.
“Feels strange celebrating Christmas without you know who around” Astrid said. “Do you think their happy?”
“I don’t know, I am sure they are in what ever town or state they could be living in” Brennan said, he was uncomfortable talking about there stepfather and mother but didn’t show it when Astrid would bring them up.
“I’m glad you didn’t leave” Astrid said smiling.
“Well someone’s got to keep you out trouble” Brennan said smiling and laughing a little.
“Hey!” Astrid said smiling; Brennan sees her eyes go catlike as she leaves.
“Sisters” Brennan said laughing as he watched her leave.
“I heard that!” Astrid said.
Christmas Day…
“MERRY CHRISTMAS” Jesse yells excitedly as he sees the others come out there rooms.
That morning was spent exchanging gifts, everyone got what they wanted, Jesse got some new sweaters and cologne and Emma received some new Meditation CD’s, Brennan got a few new books.
Shalimar some new shoes, bath soaps, and perfume, Astrid got a Lakers Jersey and some Precious Moments figurines since she collects them.
As for Adam the team put there money together to send Adam and his friend Denise Hartman on a weekend getaway to Cancun Mexico. That afternoon the team sat around and had dinner talking about anything on there minds.
“Should we wish Eckhart a Merry Christmas?” Jesse said.
“Merry Christmas Eckhart” Everyone said in Unison.
Meanwhile at Genomex Mason Eckhart entered his office and sat down, a GSA agent brought in a plate with some turkey, yams and some green beans.
“What’s this?” Eckhart said.
“The kitchen staff thought you’d enjoy it…Merry Christmas sir” the agents said.
“Your welcome” Eckhart said smiling a little.
Merry Christmas!!!! Everyone!!!!
