    Fact Sheet

    Name:  Adam Kane

    Played by: John Shea

Original Name: Adam Xero  (was seen as being too similar to the X-men and his last name was never mentioned till Season two when it was changed to Kane.)

Intro Scene: Adam walks in from of camera after Shalimar and Jesse defeated the GSA agents that were trying to abduct Emma deLauro.  He tells Emma that they (himself, Jesse, and Shalimar) were there to help her and encouraged her to come with them.

First Line:  “No need to run anymore Emma. You’re among friends.” To Emma

Mutant:  Adam is a human not a mutant. He was a child genius and has a superior intellect.

Best Line: “Great.  I don’t know. Maybe we should wear Mutant X tee-shirts.” To Team ~ Body and Soul

Worst Line:  “Well look, fine. I’m no happier about getting into bed with this guy then you are. Alright, I’m sorry, sorry, sorry.  Look can I please rephrase that?” To Shalimar  ~ Ex Marks the Spot

Most Memorable Scene:  In “One Step Closer” Adam admits to the team that he doesn’t always have all the answers, when he doesn’t know what is going on with Brennan. This is very important to Adam’s character, considering that he prides himself on always being smart enough to have all the answers.

Most Unmemorable Scene:  Near the ending of “Lest He Becomes” Adam admitted that he experiment on some people purely for the knowledge behind the experimentation. This went against everything that we had learned about Adam in season one and two, therefore, it seemed as though it wasn’t really Adam in this scene.

Most Note Worthy Episode:  Altered Ego

Personal Info: Adam is seen as one of the most intelligent people in the world. He attended college at age 12 and began working at Genomex by 1978. At Genomex Adam tinkered with human DNA of terminally ill children.  The result of this tinkering was the New Mutants that the series is based around. Adam left Genomex in 1998 and created Mutant X and the Underground as a way to protect the Children of Genomex that were coming into their mutant abilities.  Adam has had relationships that range from Danielle Hartman, a New Mutant, to Christina, a CIA operative. Adam has not had a steady relationship throughout the series.  In recent events Adam was involved in the explosion of the Naxcon facility. His body has never been recovered.

Fatal Character Flaw:  Adam’s greatest flaw is that his superior intellect allows him to believe he is the only one who can solve certain problems. He automatically assumes that he knows the right thing to do.  Adam likes to withhold certain information so that he is the only one who can see all of the cards. This is detrimental to the results to some of the Mutant X missions.

Fashion Sense: Really likes to wear black.  Adam wears black shirts, pants, suits, jackets, shoes, socks, etc. It’s all black when it has to do with Adam.  He once wore a white lab coat in “The Meaning of Death”.  He wears other colors when undercover as GSA Agent or insurance inspector, for instance. Also, he wore kakhis and a light green shirt on No Man Left Behind. Why? Beats us. Yet, if you were to look into his closet 95% of the clothing within that closet will be black.
