Dance/PureRoseXXOO
Mason Eckhart held her in his arms. She was smiling and laughing as they spun on the dance floor. It was just the two of them. Alone. The music was beautiful and soft. They waltzed. She got close to him at times whispering in his ear things he hadn't heard in years. Not since...well, not since.
She even spoke telling him how handsome he was and that he was a good dancer. She didn't want to stop dancing with him. She wanted to go on and on forever. She wanted him to hold her and not let go---ever.
Mason smiled back. It'd been so long he almost forgot what it was like to smile or even how. He looked into her beautiful hazel eyes. But it wasn't the look he always gave. His eyes were full of happiness. He laughed too. He thought he'd forgotten how to do that too.
She caressed his face gently and kissed him on his cheeks either side. She spoke of dreams she had. Mason said they were impossible dreams. She shushed him with one finger to his lips. She said they were only impossible if he didn't believe. He had to believe and have faith. She asked him about his dreams. His thoughts. What does he dream about or think about when he closes his eyes? Mason wasn't sure. He had no answer. She said it was all right. She pulled herself closer to him resting her head on his shoulder. They were slow dancing now. The music was still beautiful and soft.
In his quietest voice, Mason asked her would she ever leave him? Would she? She said no. She'd always be here for him. She'd never go away.
"I love you, Mason Eckhart," she kissed him fully on the lips.
"Andrea...?" Eckhart's eyes opened. He sat up abruptly. He looked around his room. He looked at his gloved hands and touched his face. Yes, the fake skin was still there. He felt the grey-haired wig too. The black-rimmed glasses he wore were right on the table next to the couch where he had fallen asleep for a moment only.
A dream. It was only a dream. But it seemed so real. The beautiful and soft music was still playing on the CD player which he hadn't heard or noticed. When he finally did he turned it off.
Andrea. Email. Her next one must be here by now complete with report on Kimmy and that damn "thing" she's carrying. Eckhart put his glasses on as he walked out of his room.
Reality had set in....
