    To Karen, with love~

Once upon a time there was an action-adventure series called Mutant X, earning the loyalty of fans in North America and everywhere else tv is an entertainment medium.

Mutant X fans had to be loyal: each of the three seasons was different, each almost a distinct series in itself.

The opening of Season 3 brought the most drastic changes, with the deaths of three significant, pivotal characters (one returned later, very much alive). Each was much beloved by fans, and the loss of each tore a gaping hole in the fabric of the Mutant X universe.

Fans displeased with the absence of their favorites were disinclined to welcome Season 3’s new character, Lexa.  The script introducing Lexa presented her abruptly and implausibly, raising more questions than were ever answered.

Season 3 had other problems: abandonment of the original series premise, glaring discontinuities and contradictions, and new enemies who were not so much menacing as vague.

Thankfully, Season 3 had one great good: learning what a genuinely nice person Karen Cliché is, and how receptive and interested she is in the fans. This wonderful discovery is easily the most positive aspect of Season 3.
