The Not So Secret Journal of Adam Kane
Shock of the New
Day One
Have brought Pretty Young Thing by name of Emma deLauro to Sanctuary. Have properly expressed that Jesse is not to seduce her, as I am older and more experienced in the ways of women.
Day Two
Watched Emma freak out as I explained about mutants and Genomex. Told her I am the creator of New Mutants. Awkward moment of silence.
Day Three
Ran scan over half-naked Emma. Talked to her about spiritual side to mutant powers. Hope she doesn’t see through obvious show of affections.
Day Four
Took Emma to Mutant X safehouse incognito as used bookstore. Watched Ruby put the moves on Emma and Emma slowly edge away. Will talk with Ruby later. Left Emma in safehouse. Am hoping she will change her mind and come back to Mutant X.
Day Five
Talked with Shalimar about Breedlove’s death. Looked sad and pitiful. Am hoping to get laid.
Day Six
Saved Emma from GSAgents. Let her Pretty Boy friend get captured by GSA. Made her guilty about running away. Am still hoping to get laid.
I Scream the Body Electric
Day One
Watched Proxy Blue. Reports were running about Brennan Mulwray, a.k.a. Emma’s Pretty Boy friend. Made Emma feel guilty about running away. Am still hoping to get laid.
Day Two
Had charming talk with Emma about her parents and developing powers. She trusts me now. Whoohoo!
Day Three
Watched Emma and Shalimar eye each other as Shalimar taught Emma the focusing techniques. Will now have sexual fantasies about mutant women getting touchy-feely with each other.
Day Four
Gave Shalimar a check-up. Half-naked. It’s good to be me. Tried pulling “poor baby” routine, but Shalimar saw through it. Am hoping now more than ever to get laid.
Day Five
Listened to Jesse go on and on about how Brennan “Pretty Boy” Mulwray gave him “a look”. Must be something I don’t see. Jesse is becoming very fanboyish about the idea of being able to save Brennan from Genomex. Convinced Emma the only way she could help us was if she joined us. Am hoping she doesn’t see through attempts to seduce her.
Day Six
Gave Emma pep talk while she tried locating New Mutants In Cages. Feel I acted too fatherly. Must stop it.
Day Seven
Scratch that. Emma gets reaction from fatherly behavior. Am continuing in hopes of getting laid.
Day Eight
Broke into Genomex. Watched as Shalimar beat up numerous GSAgents. Fought urge to laugh. Put virus into Mason Eckhart’s computer system. Payback for trying to get me drunk on tape back in the eighties.
Day Nine
Had near Western-style showdown with Mason. Watched and laughed as his database was destroyed by computer virus. Ha! Take that, pseudo Andy Warhol wannabe!
Day Ten
Emma and Brennan joined Mutant X. Nearly gave away my attempts to bed Emma, but saved face by saying I wanted her because of her mutant powers. Insulted Brennan while at it. Watched as Jesse gave Brennan his ring and asked for a hug. Almost feel sorry for Brennan. Jesse can be very fanboyish when he wants to be.
The Not So Secret Journal of Mason Eckhart
Day One
Have created ingenius plan to capture Adam's pathetic New Mutants and put subdermal governors in their necks, then drop them in stasis pods. Have perfected the pseudo Andy Warhol wannabe image. Am the man. The evil man, but still the man.
Day Two
GSAgents failed to capture Pretty Young Thing. Have punished them.
Day Three
Pretty Young Thing, name of Emma deLauro, has been caught by Adam. Damn him.
Day Four
Subtley threatened GSAgent-that-looks-like-a-toad -- Mr. Thorn -- that our GSAgents had to get better. Can't have squirrelly New Mutants running around in the streets. Further polishing my image as Neo Nazi and uncaring man of power.
Day Five
Am still the man.
Day Six
Have had talk with Dr. Breedlove. Am insulted he wants to go public. Will kill him.
Day Seven
Had another talk with Dr. Breedlove. Informed me he's going to the press next week. With full disclosure. Will kill him. Will kill him dead. Perhaps can find way to destroy those gawd awful records of his in the process as well. Wouldn't be nearly so angry if he hadn't asked me to come visit him more often.
Day Eight
Killed Dr. Breedlove in grisly way. Had Dr. Thorn telekinetically throw his records as daggers, mutilating his body. Stole his database of New Mutants. Am the man.
Day Ten
Pretended to be sad at the news of Breedlove’s death. Blamed it on New Mutant’s. Created Genetic Security Agency. Got applause from employees. Am the man. Have lead for New Mutant with electric abilities.

Day One
Was run off from job by strange men in suits. Am under the impression they need a better tailor. Would have commented on our fabulous mens' section if they hadn't brandished evil-looking sticks at me.
Day Two
Strange men in suits still after me. Met pretty boy in bar while running. Looked at me stupidly even after I sent him telempathic message to help me. Am convinced it's bad karma. Was saved by strange man with super ability of massing and phasing and weird Catwoman wannabe. Man with showy trenchcoat showed up and said he was my friend. Am convinced he wants to seduce me since Catwoman looks thirty.
Day Three
Man with showy trenchcoat revealed his name to be Adam. Took my sight away. Properly freaked out. Explained I have mutant powers, and have been chased around by people called GSAgents. Sounds like bad TV show.
Day Four
Was showed around hole-in-ground by Adam. Explained all about Genomex. Was stared at by Catwoman and pretty boy #2. Adam said he is the one who created people with mutant powers. Even further convinced this sounds like bad TV show.
Day Five
Laid half-naked on bio-bed so Adam could do a check-up on me. Am still convinced he wants to seduce me. Catwoman looks a little rough around the edges. (Have discovered her name is “Shalimar”. What kind of name is Shalimar? Prefer to call her Catwoman.)
Day Six
Insulted Pretty Boy #2 by accident. Feel sorry. Catwoman flashed yellow eyes at me. Would be scared, if I didn’t know how to make her believe she was on fire.
Day Seven
Was taken to Mutant X Safehouse incognito. Actually old bookstore run by fat man named Ruby. Man is a telepath. Creepy, creepy man. Wants me to call him ESPer. Met strange superfreaks in safehouse. Am even more convinced this is like bad sci-fi TV.
Day Eight
Am pissed off at Adam. Wants me to change my entire life because of mutant powers. Have to have new name and new place to live. Damn him.
Day Nine
Was given new ID card by Catwoman. Why is new name so stupid? “Adelpha Kane”? What the hell?
Day Ten
Convinced nameless woman that regular fishermen were GSAgents. Stole her car.
Day Eleven
Met pretty boy #1 again in another bar. Sparks flew. Pretty boy destroyed margarita shaker with mutant abilities of electricity. Slipped off to ladies’ room. Evil-looking man was there when I got back. Saw into his mind. Apparently into gay bondage. Sent warning to Pretty Boy. Pretty Boy doesn’t like bondage.
Day Twelve
Made off with Pretty Boy. Got to mall. Was cornered by GSAgents. Pretty fought ugly men in suits. Catwoman and Pretty Boy #2 showed up and kicked GSAgent ass. Watched Pretty Boy get taken away. Adam didn’t seduce me. Instead made me feel guilty. Damn him.
